Troop 144 of Pompton Plains, New Jersey encourages Scouts to live by the Scout Oath and Law. Our Troop enjoys a multitude of activities planned by our youth and adult leaders. Recent activities include monthly camping trips, weekly meetings, and a week long summer camp. Some highlights of our camping trips include overnight trips to the Battleship Massachusetts, the Freedom Trail in Boston, Washington D.C., Gettysburg, and Philadelphia. Troop 144 is also committed to its community. Our recent scouting for food drive collected a few hundred bags of food for our local food pantry. Additionally, we annually clean up trails at local parks. We are always looking for ways to help in our community. If you have a need, or suggestion, please feel free to contact us.

Refurbishment of the front entrance to the Pequannock Department of Public Works Building - including restoring or replacing the block area outlining the generator, landscaping the garden bed, installing new low maintenance shrubs or other greenery surrounding the generator while maintaining its serviceability, reconditioning and restoring the iconic DPW plow, and providing a lighting fixture that will be installed and connected to existing power sources by the DPW staff. 

April 11th, Annual Mayor's Riverbank Cleanup, 9am to 12:30pm

Woodland Lake Overnight Tent Camping Trip.  What is better than one Scouting event (Annual River Clean-up)?  Two!  Another night of tent camping, campfire and opportunity to work on outdoor skills.

Revamping the outdoor meditation garden area for the Pequannock Senior Center - including assembling and installing four new benches around a newly installed bird feeder, assembling and installing concrete chess tables, laying new pavers with the path leading to a drop curb that will make the area more accessible, and landscaping the area.
